No More Mats was created from Paige's passion for cats and a desire to provide owners with a more knowledgeable, specialist approach to feline grooming.
During her veterinary nursing career, Paige saw many cats presenting to veterinary practices with significant matting and coat problems. Although veterinary teams are highly skilled in medical and surgical care, specialist cat grooming, coat maintenance and safe dematting are different areas of expertise.
Paige wanted to offer owners an alternative: professional feline grooming carried out by someone with veterinary knowledge alongside a strong understanding of cat handling, behaviour and coat care.
No More Mats was created to bridge that gap, providing knowledgeable, gentle and welfare-focused grooming while helping owners keep their cats comfortable, healthy and easier to maintain at home.
Every groom is tailored to the individual cat, taking into account their coat, temperament, health and tolerance.

Why should cats be groomed?
Regular grooming helps remove loose hair, reduce shedding and prevent knots and matting. It also supports coat and skin condition and can help keep hygiene areas clean.
How often should cats be groomed?
Frequency depends on coat type, coat length, lifestyle, age, grooming ability and how easily the coat mats. Guidance can be given once more is known about your cat.
Why choose home-based grooming?
The grooming environment is calm, quiet and controlled, which can feel easier for many cats than a busy setting with lots of movement and noise.
Do you groom nervous cats?
Nervous cats are welcome. Each cat's health, tolerance and individual needs are considered, and grooming can be adapted with breaks where appropriate.
Do you groom elderly cats?
Elderly cats are welcome, with their comfort, mobility, health and tolerance taken into account throughout the appointment.
What should owners do before an appointment?
Please provide accurate health, temperament and grooming information, and transport your cat securely in a suitable carrier.
Can owners stay with their cat?
Most cats settle best in a calm, quiet environment with minimal distractions, so owners will usually be asked to leave the groomer to work with their cat independently, unless they want to be present for the groom. Gentle handling, breaks, classical music and suitable treats may be used where appropriate. If an owner's presence would help their cat feel more comfortable, they will be contacted and asked to assist.
What happens if my cat becomes stressed?
If a cat becomes excessively stressed, grooming may be paused, adapted or stopped. Welfare always comes first.
What happens if my cat is severely matted?
Severe matting may require clipping rather than brushing out. The kindest suitable approach will be chosen, and staged grooming may be discussed if needed.
